Howard University Employees Federal Credit Union has merged with Educational Systems Federal Credit Union. This merger will significantly expand the range of services and benefits available to employees, students, alumni and family members of Howard University as well as Howard University Hospital. 

In honor of the long-standing history of Howard University and Howard University Hospital, the name Howard University Federal Credit Union, a division of Educational Systems Federal Credit Union will be used within the Howard University community.

Founded by a group of educators in 1955, the Credit Union has grown to $1.2 billion in assets and operates 13 branches. With the merger, this will expand to 14 branches, including the current Howard University location, which will remain open to serve you. How to access your new account

Members of Howard University Employees FCU will have received a welcome packet with your Educational Systems FCU member number and instructions on how to access your accounts as of January 1, 2025. If you did not receive a welcome packet, please call us at 301.779.8500 to update your mailing address.

Yes, your account number and Digital Banking login credentials will change. You will receive a new account number and instructions for online account access in your welcome packet. Changes will take effect on January 1, 2025. If you did not receive a welcome packet, please call us at 301.779.8500 to update your mailing address and request your new account information.
